Scope and Purpose
The Contract Draughtsperson will work within the engineering team to service the operations and production departments.

The role will involve producing Contract Drawings, the management of historic data, as well as Test and Trials work, and the updating and development of our products.


Responsibilities

  • Preparing drawing packs for our operations and production department in support of equipment sales, and spare parts contracts.
  • Customising designs and drawing new variants of existing designs to meet client requirements.
  • Producing and updating specifications and drawings for in house manufacture and suppliers, as required.
  • Helping create electronic archives and organising drawing and design records into them to allow remote access and searching.
  • Working with the Sales team to correctly identify customer requirements.
  • Assisting with process trials and product development, both at the Group R & D facility in France and at customer sites worldwide.
  • Visiting customer sites to gather information regarding their equipment to allow us to reverse engineer designs to their requirements.

Skills and Experience

  • Ideally degree qualified or similar with a good understanding of mechanical design principles
  • Used to working to deadlines but with good attention to detail and a "right first time" attitude.
  • A Team player with good communication skills, both written and verbal, at all levels of a business.
  • Experienced in the production of 2D manufacturing drawing for machining and fabrication.
  • Ideally with knowledge of Medusa.
  • At least two to three years of working experience in a traditional manufacturing and mechanical engineering environment.
  • A knowledge of 3D CAD systems and Solidworks in particular would be advantageous.
  • An understanding of the requirements of process plant and equipment is desirable.
  • Computer literate and with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Additional language skills would be beneficial.
  • This role may sometimes require the post holder to travel worldwide in the execution of their duties.
