The Catering Department at Newnham College requires a full-time, permanent Food Service Assistant to join the busy front of house team.

This represents an excellent opportunity to join a team of professionals working on a range of catering functions and events from service in the Buttery to waiting at garden parties, weddings and other formal functions.

You will gain first hand experience and skills supporting the excellent catering service at the College.

This post would suit a smart, reliable individual with some customer service experience or the willingness to learn, looking for a first step in a career in hospitality and food services.

The annual salary is paid at point 23 on the University's single salary spine, £22,197 p.a. and rising to £22,681 from August 2023. Working full time hours which average 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis, flexibility is a requirement as there is some weekend and occasional evening work. Normally Sunday working is not a necessity. As well as the opportunity to grow and develop on a professional level the College also offers a range of employee benefits including 33 days a year holiday, (inclusive of bank holidays), free lunches and parking when available, use of the College gym (when its open) and the post is pensionable under the College's attractive contributory pension scheme with a current employer contribution rate of 21.6%.
