The B Team is looking for a Strategist to join our team to drive impact through B Team Leader and company engagement in our campaigns, with a special focus on policy advocacy.

This role will focus on the nature and climate campaign, but a passion to work across all campaigns is required.

Our campaigns, all of which include catalyzing leadership change, aim to drive business and government action across a range of causes, from just transition to a net zero and nature positive economy to diversity and inclusion to transparency and governance.

Working across The B Team, key responsibilities may include:
Policy Influencing and Horizon Scanning

  • Track, engage and drive strategy for B Team efforts in global policy processes on climate and nature, focusing on UN, G20 and G7, among other key global governance frameworks and moments
  • Support B Team engagement in policy processes in other key areas (governance, tax, circularity and resource use, sustainability reporting, human rights)
Convening and Networking

  • Coconvene relevant working group(s) on incentives (eg: environmentally harmful subsidies, environmental tax, etc.)
  • Advance company engagement, in line with The B Team strategy
  • Maintain and build strong relationships with partners from B Team and other companies, civil society and key organizations
Teaming

  • Support teammates in a variety of tasks, including development and execution of our campaigns, from event logistics to strategic content development
  • Deliver on grants and our broader strategy, including communication with and reporting to funders
  • Contribute to fundraising and monitoring, learning and evaluation efforts


The Strategist may also be required to take on other duties as need arises to help drive forward our mission and vision.


Qualifications

  • Track record in policy advocacy/influencing, including ability to translate between policy and business audiences
  • Strong understanding of climate and nature COPs and other global influencing processes
  • Network of relevant partners, from experts to business leaders to policymakers
  • Facilitation and coordination of events and partners, including work with senior leaders
  • Collaborative and cooperative approach and mindset
  • Agile decision making
  • Resilience for complexity and change
  • Flexible teaming
  • Existing knowledge/passion/interest in core areas of B Team work
  • Curiosity to learn about and contribute to new areas of work

Conditions

Our Work Environment:

Most of our team work remotely, and The B Team will provide support to ensure a productive remote working environment.

We do have access to offices in London and New York, and we welcome applicants from either of these locations (or anywhere in the US, UK or Germany).

The co-managers for this position are located in Berlin, Germany and San Francisco, California.


Job Requirements:
The right to work either in the US, the UK or Germany is required. Travel is required for this role. Full-time position (part-time will be considered).
