Description
The Resource Planning Lead sits within a vital support service for the entirety of the operation.

This new leadership role will involve working dynamically with all areas of the operation including Security, Services, Airport Operations and Engineering, helping the business adopt a more data-driven culture specific to colleague activity and business change requirements.

The role will work with both historic resource data and future forecasts, looking to combine datasets to provide a clearer and enriched view of operational resource trends to drive enhanced management insight, improve decision making and refine future resource models.

The role will work with and influence a wide range of operational teams to director level, providing trusted support, and drive continuous data-led resource analytics.


Your role will involve:


  • Prepare, share and present monthly reports of resourcing analytics and financial impacts, engaging directly with leadership teams to gain buyin and support.
  • Support engagement and people teams with attendance data insight and highlighting trends that support a reduction in levels of absence and restricted hours and duties. Build data and factual insight into L&D modelling for both mandated and compliance training delivery that unlocks greater resource efficiency.
  • Develop and coach resource analysts to help them reach their full potential in this new team.
  • Build datasets and dynamic reporting dashboards that provide visibility of key metrics and KPIs that will develop and shape future colleague proposition such as overtime, annual leave and special leave opportunities. Bring best practice from learnings of other leading industries and markets which require 24/7 rostering and operations.
  • Prioritise and respond to ad hoc requests for resource data and insights across the operation, working closely with the People leadership teams to drive companywide datasets and proposal of amendments to policy and processes.
  • Work across planning and operational teams to understand current challenges and jointly develop solutions, providing expert guidance to deliver best outcomes to benefit resource capacity, efficiency, and service of colleague resourcing.

These skills are essential:


  • Experience leading projects or teams in the delivery of workload to strict deadlines.
  • Competent user of relevant IT systems, including use of Excel and Power Bi.
  • Excellent analytics and modelling skills, with strong statistical and data science capabilities and experience of working with large data sets.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to structure and present analysis to people of all levels and gain stakeholder buy in.

Ideally, you'll also have:


  • Ability to exercise good judgement and decision making whilst working in a complex and dynamic environment
  • At least three years Operational experience
