Simply Education are working with a number of SEND schools in the Lincoln area who are looking for Teaching Assistants to join the team from September and beyond.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students with a range of SEND specialisms; including but not limited to: Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH), Autism Spectrum Disorder / Condition (ASD / ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).
You will play a vital role in supporting students in all aspects of school life.
Most of the work will be 1:1 however you may be expected to work with a small group of students.

We have a range of FREE CPD courses that can support your transition in to SEND work. Including an Introduction to Special Schools and Supporting Children with Autism / ADHD.
Full-time and Part-time opportunities available.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs.
- Implement individualised behaviour plans and strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Build positive relationships with students, providing guidance, encouragement, and a safe and supportive environment.
- Support students in accessing the curriculum, adapting teaching materials as necessary.
- Foster social skills development, conflict resolution, and selfregulation techniques.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher.
- Contribute to the overall positive ethos and wellbeing of the school community.
Requirements:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role supporting vulnerable adults or children.
- A strong understanding of SEND and its impact on learning and behaviour.
- Resilience, patience, and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to the varying needs of students.
