Description

Insight Westminster and Insight Kensington and Chelsea help young people in these two boroughs who may need support to improve their health and wellbeing or want to reduce or stop using drugs, drinking or smoking.

  • The service is free, friendly and confidential and can help with:
  • support to improve health and wellbeing
- support to stop or reduce smoking, alcohol or drugs
- advice on benefits, housings and finances
- family support

The service also provides training and guidance to schools, colleges and other professionals. Young people are paired with a Key Worker and there are also group activities.


Details of the Role:


To support Insight with the following:

  • Attending Health and Wellbeing (H&W) sessions in hostels alongside staff
  • Assist with H&W and drug and alcohol sessions with young people on a 11 basis.
  • Assist with the Insight training programme
  • Load information onto our ILLY Data System training will be provided
  • Assist with Education, Training and Employment interventions & referral on
  • Liaising with staff and service users to gain feedback about the service which helps inform decisions and support
  • Complying with all Humankind policies and procedures, including service and local Safeguarding Procedures, General Data Protection Requirements and Health & Safety

Training:


Volunteers have access to Humankind's training platform, Learningkind, and will be asked to complete a number of training modules within their first 3 months, many of these are e-learning modules.

One session on Safeguarding is delivered by trainers zia Zoom, and is 6 hours (with breaks) - there are a range of dates but please do keep this in mind.


Timings:

The timings can be flexible but we hope the volunteer will be available for a day a week or more (no more than 15 hours per week)

  • A confident and friendly approach

  • Basic IT skills
  • An understanding of the importance of guidelines and procedures relating to key areas such as safeguarding and information governance
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check if required for the role
  • Willing to attend and complete relevant training
  • To participate in regular supervision sessions with your supervisor
