Teaching Assistant to work across the school to support learning in early years, key stages 1 and 2


Cawood (VA) Church of England Primary School is a very popular and successful school situated at the heart of the village.

We are a warm and welcoming school, dedicated to the overall welfare and pastoral care of all our pupils as well as their academic achievements.

The staff have very high expectation of the children's standards of behaviour and their progress.

We are looking for the right person to join our very committed and hard-working team in September (4th).

The Head Teacher and Governors are looking to appoint a highly motivated and passionate person who will be dedicated to ensuring the highest quality of learning and play experiences for our children.

Initially your role will involve working as part of the key stage 1 and early year's team, supporting individual children in their learning under the direction of the class teacher and the Assistant Headteacher.

You may also be asked to help and support in key stage 2.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who would like to pursue a career in teaching and/or working with young children.

We would like to hear from you if you:

  • Have relevant experience within the Early Years, key stage 1 and/or key stage 2 (preferably with an Early Years Level 2 or 3 qualification)
  • Have a good understanding of the Early Years curriculum
  • Are a flexible team player to work within our team who is able to build and maintain successful relationships with other staff, pupils, parents and carers
  • Have high expectations of children's behaviour
  • Are perceptive to the needs of children to enable them to access the curriculum as planned and designed by the teacher
  • Show yourself to be well organised, responsible and efficient, aware of the need to maintain confidentiality
  • Have good maths, English and communication skills and can engage in regular professional dialogue with colleagues
  • Are empathetic, patient and caring
  • Are eager to play a part in the life of our very busy and successful school.
