Description

We are currently looking to add to our team a dedicated Powder Coating Team Leader who has a strong background in the pre-treatment and powder coating of sheet metal and who will also have experience in the management of the associated plant and machinery of a semi-automated powder coating plant within a busy sheet metal manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities:

Take a handson leadership role within the department of 46 operatives to produce painted goods in accordance with the production schedule.
Understand and manage all aspects of the pretreatment and powder coating materials and processes including the overall plant management and maintenance
Take responsibility for ensuring that all environmental and legislative procedures are followed
Evaluate and monitor stock levels to ensure continual production can be achieved
Guide, coach and communicate with all staff in the department to increase their skills, flexibility and commitment and to ensure that they achieve high standard quality of finished goods
Maintain discipline within the department and ensure that all operators are adequately trained for the set tasks and procedures
Take the lead role in ensuring that the safety requirements of the department are met and maintain all required documents and records
Maintain the smooth running of the department by encouraging participation from team members to solve problems, promote good morale and be consistent when dealing with personnel issues in conjunction with the company management team
Liaise with other members of the management team
