Join our Team as a Learning Support Assistant at M2 Education

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to become a valued member of our team at a reputable 11-18 secondary school in the vibrant Sunderland area.


Position:
Learning Support Assistant

Contract: Full-time until the end of the Summer Term


Working Hours:
Monday to Friday


As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting children with additional needs within various classes throughout the school.

By working closely with students, teachers, and other support staff, you will help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students to thrive.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide oneonone or small group support to students with additional needs, ensuring their educational and social progress.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials accordingly.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the classroom, promoting equal opportunities for all students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement effective strategies for student engagement and achievement.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.
  • Contribute to the overall wellbeing and personal development of students.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience working within a similar setting, supporting children with additional needs.
  • Possess an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate on the update service. If you do not have an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service, we are happy to assist you in obtaining a new one.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping young learners reach their full potential.

Registering with M2 Education

  • All of our pay rates are inclusive of the 10.77% statutory holiday pay.
