Excellent inter-personnel skills and an aptitude for dealing with people of different nationalities and cultures in an assertive, confident and natural manner is also a requirement.

As the role will involve travel, the ability to work using initiative and problem solve rationally is neccessary, together with flexibility in regards to hours and location.


Key objectives;

  • To ensure that all due diligence requirements under the Food Safety Act are met
  • To maintain and develop relationships with supermarket technologist
  • Maintain and update the approved supplier list
  • Monitor and sample usage of pesticides by suppliers and to document all necessary findings
  • To advise on pesticide use and conduct risk assessment at suppliers
  • To offer fruit technology expertise to growers and identify areas for improvement
  • Dealing with end user complaints
  • To advise on new projects and new product developments
  • To be fully conversant with any legal and environmental changes that could have an impact upon the business
  • To liaise with the procurement and sales departments about changes that may effect product supply
  • To support the procurement department in the sourcing of new suppliers
  • To be fully conversant with the changing requirements of supermarkets and end users
  • To undertake technical audits on site

£40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year

Education:


  • Bachelor's (required)

Experience:


  • Food Technologist in soft fruit: 4 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • UK driving licence (required)

  • United Kingdom (required)

Willingness to travel:

  • 50% (required)
