We have an exciting Band 4 Nursing Associate position.

If you are a forward-thinking qualified nurse associate looking to get experience in Mental health and become an expert within a leading CAMHS inpatient eating disorder service this is an exciting opportunity to consider.


The post will allow you to utilise your expertise in physical health management and enhance your skills in clinical decision making, specialist assessment of mental health, therapeutic engagement, crisis management as well as joint working with multiple agencies/services.

As a nursing associate you will support the CYP-IAPT principles of collaborative working and goal-based outcomes, with a strong emphasis on formulation-driven treatment and use of SMART goals.

You will work collaboratively with the MDT to quickly identify the key priorities for intervention, work intensively with the young person and the whole family, manage expectations for treatment, and provide intensive liaison with community and external services to ensure smooth patient flow through the unit.

Wisteria Ward as an inpatient CAMHS eating disorders unit provides the following treatment and aims to keep admission length less than 12 weeks:

  • Weight restoration through a carefully prescribed regime of meals and snacks (or nasogastric tube feeding).
  • A programme of supportive psychological therapies delivered by a multi disciplinary team.
  • An individualised care plan.
  • An individualised psychological formulation for all young people.
  • Regular liaison and sharing of information with the care coordinator including a meeting or telephoneconference after one week as per NICE guidelines.
  • Weekly sessions with key nurse.
  • Medical monitoring including twice weekly weights, blood tests, ECG, cardiovascular observations.
  • Communication and support for parents and carers.
  • Family Interventions family therapy, information sessions, parent groups, family meal preparation, multi family groups.

Springfield University Hospital, Tooting


Our largest, 19-ward site is in Springfield Village, created following our £150m investment into two new world class mental health facilities.

A 32-acre public park, shops and cafes are coming soon.

Close to shops, cafes and Tooting Bec on the Northern Line plus Earlsfield and Tooting rail stations and bus routes.

The nursing associate will deliver high quality, personalised, compassionate care to service users.

They will be competent to carry out tasks without direct supervision and will have an awareness of when to ask for guidance.

They will be supervised by a Registered Nurse.
