Description

Veitchi are looking to expand their existing HSE department with a summer placement as an Environmental Advisor, with potential extension and graduate apprentice opportunity.

Reporting to the group H&S Manager, you will be responsible for driving the groups 'green agenda' along with introducing practical carbon reduction methodologies to assist in our journey to Net Zero.

Role
We are now looking to employ an
Environmental Advisor _(Summer Placement)_
to become part of our team.


Summer Placement_ - _**Monday to Thursday 08:00am to 17:00pm & Friday, 08:00am to 16:00pm.


Salary:
Competitive

Undertake environment related monitoring for the Group companies e.g., this includes carrying out visits to construction sites and regional branches.

Contribute to developing and maintaining the Environmental, Health and Safety and Quality management system.
Support the Group in relation to environmental technical queries and initiatives.
Develop the companies 'green agenda' items and pathway to net zero plan.
Provide advice and guidance to personnel in relation to Environmental and Health and Safety matters.
Participate in Health, Safety and Environmental investigations.
Help identify, develop, and as appropriate deliver, environmental training programmes and courses.
Conduct site inspections and audits in line with agreed programmes.
Produce written reports in relation to inspections, audits, and investigations.
Provide support and advice to project teams, branches and to other business functions on environmental risks including regulatory matters.
Deliver in-house Environmental, Health and Safety training courses.
Attend and participate at Environmental and Health and Safety meetings.
Network with other Environmental, Health and Safety professionals to further Veitchi Environmental, Health and Safety performance.
Any other relevant duties your line manager may from time to time require you to undertake.


Knowledge, Experience & Requirements
Previous experience in the construction industry working and covering multi-sites.
Experience in a similar role.
Previous experience of environmental system auditing.
Education in an environmental discipline (or equivalent qualifications / training).
Desire to add a Health and Safety qualification to your existing CV.
Good communication and IT skills.
Commitment to delivering a professional, quality service.
Driving licence required.
