What you'll be doing:


As a Commissioning Compliance Officer you will form part of a small team, responsible for the management and compliance of the Commissioning Cycle together with the broadening of partnership working within the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire.


The Commissioning Compliance Officer role is varied, with exciting opportunities and responsibilities, working autonomously on projects or working as part of a team on larger tendering agreements.


The Commissioning and compliance Cycle informs the majority of the work undertaken within the OPCC, beginning with gaining understanding of the needs of victims of crime within the County of Bedfordshire.


The role offers the opportunity to conduct research and engagement with a variety of national and local partner agencies and charities with the overall aim of commissioning adequate service provision to meet the needs of victims of crime across the county.


As a Commissioning Compliance Officer, you will work transparently, engaging stakeholders using a variety of contact methods and published documents as the Commissioning Cycle progresses.

The role will be engaged with evaluation panels for small and large funding opportunities with appropriate budgets.


Responsibilities and Duties:

Sustain and build an excellent working relationship with key partners.

Supporting the commissioning process and ensure compliance with policy and processes throughout the year.

Work with commissioned partners or organisations to ensure delivery of objectives and maintain the necessary monitoring compliance.

Support a dynamic project research and analysis capability to support this area of the OPCC.


Support the production research and recommendations within relevant timescales, that utilise appropriate information sources and techniques to determine opportunities for service improvements.


Develop and maintain an extensive network within the existing statutory and voluntary partnership network, enabling the exchange of information, and opportunities for developing shared work across organisations.

To represent the OPCC at relevant meetings and forums as appropriate.

When working with the commissioned partners you will ensure that the view of service users is taken into consideration.


Work in support of the Commissioning Lead for the OPCC to develop and deliver the commissioning strategy for and on behalf of the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).

Regularly engage and coordinate the performance reports for commissioned services.


Essential:

Experience of working in an administrative role that may include developing processes, problem solving, multi-tasking and using own initiative.

A good understanding and knowledge of Microsoft including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Able to collate facts, figures and data and to maintain accurate databases.

Ability to work independently and part of a team.

Well organised, efficient and can effectively plan own workload to meet deadlines.

Good communicator.


Desirables:


  • Some experience of commissioning services and functions.
  • Experience in managing a budget.
  • Previous bid writing experience.
