Accept Recruitment are looking for an experienced Stock Controller to join a large independent provider of medical equipment services to the NHS.


Training will take place at the Leicester Glenfield hospital, but the role involves being a 'floater' between all hospital sites in Leicester, Derby & Burton upon Trent.


The roles are on a permanent basis with hours of Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm and the salary on offer is £24,000.

You will also receive a car allowance of £5,000.

As the
Stock Controller, you will be required to support with the day-to-day management of consumables on site, ensuring that all Stock Rooms are efficiently run, products are stored safely and with good housekeeping and that all stock is appropriately located ready for use by clinical staff


Main responsibilities include:


  • Source nonstock products as required by the location
  • Add or amend product details on computer system
  • Set up inventory parameters to enable requisitions or direct ordering
  • Manage automatic and manual orders including nonstock
  • Manage requisitions including nonstock, raise and enter Purchase orders
  • Stock transfers e.g., ad hoc issues on a sale or return basis
  • Accept delivery, decant, and manage reversals including over/under deliveries and damages
  • Manage receipt of products for trials, loan equipment
  • Manage quarantine of product/product recalls/shelflife expiry/loss management and physical returns
  • Undertake cyclical and annual stock takes/reconciliation
  • Discuss orders with suppliers including management of price queries with suppliers, Trust procurement and finance
  • Provide onsite support for all regional offices to cover absence
  • Any other duties as agreed with Head of Consumables

Experience & background for the Stock Controllers:

  • You will need to have worked in a similar warehousing and inventory management position for a minimum of 2 years and ideally from a pharma/medical industry
  • Be used to working in a fastpaced environment, with accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Have exceptional communication skills written, speaking, and listening
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office
  • Excel, Word & Outlook) and have used WMS previously
