    Speech and Language Therapist

    We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team.

    Job Summary:

    Provide specialist speech and language therapy perspective in the assessment, care and teaching of children and young people accessing our educational services.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan, deliver, and evaluate individualised therapy programmes based on clinical need and best practice.
    • Work in partnership with families, caregivers, schools, and other professionals to support therapy goals and ensure consistency across environments.
    • Maintain up-to-date and accurate clinical records, reports, and documentation in line with service policies and professional standards.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of integrated care plans.
    • Provide training, advice, and support to parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.
    • Contribute to service development, audit, and research initiatives where appropriate.
    • Maintain and develop professional knowledge and skills through continuing professional development (CPD).

    Person Specification:

    • Essential qualifications include a Degree or postgraduate qualification in Speech and Language Therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
    • Experience working with children and/or young adults with a range of communication needs is also essential.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and commitment to promoting the welfare of children and young people is expected.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) is desirable.
    • Experience working in educational settings or specialist provisions (e.g., autism, developmental language disorder) would be beneficial.
    • Training in relevant communication approaches (e.g., Makaton, PECS, AAC systems) may be advantageous.
