    Description

    **Job Summary**

    We are seeking an exceptional Head Nurse to promote the highest level of clinical care and lead our team of veterinary nurses. This is a rare opportunity for a skilled nurse to model exemplary nursing, manage a large team and oversee the day-to-day running of a busy hospital.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and inspire our team of 24 RVNs, SVNs and VCAs
    • Manage a large team and oversee the day-to-day running of a busy hospital and branch surgery
    • Facilitate Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for all staff
    • Oversee apprentices and student nurses, provide clinical coaching and coordinate work experience placements
    • Ensure high clinical standards are met
    • Manage HR processes and procedures, compile complex rotas (at least six months in advance)
    • Motivate and support the wellbeing of our team

    This is an 'on the ground role' with a mix of nursing and management responsibilities. The rota is 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with no out-of-hours (OOH) commitments.

    We are a small animal, 1st Opinion, Tier 3 Veterinary Hospital in Devon. We have excellent facilities, including two operating theatres, a self-contained dental suite, imaging suite, separate cattery, kennels, and isolation wards with silver standard ISFM cat-friendly accreditation.

    We pride ourselves on delivering veterinary care with a dedicated focus on providing high clinical standards. Our team of 11 Veterinary Surgeons, supported by large Nursing, Reception and Administration teams, work together to provide exceptional patient care.
