We are looking for a Government Relations Manager to manage our relationship with the UK Government.

£38,391 - £44,610 per annum depending on experience a good range of benefits.


About the role:


We are looking for a Government Relations Manager to manage the organisation's relationship with the UK Government, acting as an account manager for the FCDO a key strategic partner.

We need you to increase the organisation's already strong influence and impact with Government Ministers, Senior Civil Servants, politicians, and partners on issues that affect the worlds most vulnerable children.


Key responsibilities will include:
Develop our UK Government relationship management approach

*Build an effective relationship management approach for the FCDO.
*Develop and implement effective relationship management systems.
*Lead engagement and coordination across Policy and Programmes and the wider organisation to enable influence, income and innovation.

Develop the organisation's external engagement approach

*Develop and deliver an external engagement strategy for MPs and Shadow Ministers
*Build feedback systems to enable external insights to be brought back into the organisation
*Co-ordinate teams across the organisation to build buy-in and engagement

Develop a great team

*Develop and coach a high-performing team which covers fragile states programmes and advocacy, political engagement and the case for aid;
*Play an active role in the leadership of the PTSC team, across Policy and Programmes and the wider organisation.

To perform well in this role, you'll need:
*Holds a degree, ideally a Masters, in a relevant discipline e.g., international development, politics and/or international relations or demonstrates an equivalent level of experience.
*Significant experience working with Governments, political parties and/or parliamentary systems (ideally in the UK).
*Demonstrable experience in building effective relationships with partners.
*Experience in leading teams, setting direction, and inspiring high performance.
*Understanding of and commitment to the organisation's Christian foundation and approaches to social justice.
