Fundraising & Supporter Development (F&SD) are looking for a Lead Administrator to be a key go-to person for colleagues in our hardworking and busy Department.


This role reports into and supports our EA and Office Manager (EA&OM) in managing the daily demands of the Department and ensuring there is excellent administrative support for over 130 people.

The Lead Administrator will be directly responsible for leading the Admin Team (consisting of two Administrators), which will support the EA&OM in the delivery of all admin-related matters for the Department.


Essential to this role is an ability to source information from internal departments relating to a range of finance-related matters, under direction from the EA&OM.


This is a role wearing many hats and you will likely be involved in a range of other general office-related matters.

This will include working alongside F&SD's finance team to ensure that the EA & Admin Team are familiar with all processes and procedures and can effectively support the Department's financial reporting.


The post holder will manage two Administrator roles and oversee their workload, ensuring that tasks and responsibilities are clearly and logically distributed and helping the postholders to develop in their roles.

Working with the EA&OM, the Lead Administrator will also engage with colleagues across the Department, ensuring that administrative support provided is easily accessible, appropriately developed, prompt and effective.


The post-holder will work within the broader F&SD EA & Admin Team and will collaborate with the EA&OM, People & Projects Officer and other EAs to ensure that the department is provided with excellent administrative support, under the overall direction of the Associate Director of Business Operations.

This post will be offered on a permanent contract.

This is a full-time post. 35 hours per week. F&SD has a hybrid working approach, with a minimum of 40% of time in the office.

Typically, this equates to two days per week, but we're very happy for colleagues to be in more frequently if they so wish.

Skills, knowledge, and experience

Essential Criteria

  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Excellent IT skills with experience of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask, manage competing priorities within tight deadlines and use own initiative.
  • Experience of delivering highquality administrative support within a large organisation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage with colleagues at different levels and across different parts of a large organisation.
  • Experience operating in a busy, varied, and fastpaced working environment.
  • Accurate and systematic approach with excellent attention to detail and ability to solve problems proactively.
  • Ability to lead and work as part of a team.
Desirable criteria

  • Project management experience involving a range of stakeholders.
  • Enthusiasm for Higher Education and hospital sectors and for the goals of philanthropy.
  • Previous experience working with online financial systems and with databases.
