Managing Blog Editor (part time 0.6 full time equivalent)

Salary from £40,229 to £48,456 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £52,095 pa inclusive of London allowance (pro rata)

This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years


The International Inequalities Institute (III) at LSE brings together experts from many LSE departments and centres to lead critical and cutting-edge research to understand why inequalities are escalating in numerous arenas across the world, and to develop critical tools to address these challenges.


The Managing Blog Editor will be responsible for managing the LSE Inequalities blog, hosted by the LSE International Inequalities Institute.

The role will involve planning and commissioning articles, liaising with authors and the blog advisory board, editing copy with close attention to house style and potentially sensitive issues, maintaining a regular posting schedule, publishing articles on the LSE Blog platform, promoting articles through social media and a regular newsletter, and reporting on blog performance.

The Managing Blog Editor will also have a key role in improving the blog strategy, exploring new partnerships and building a strong audience for the blog upon launch.


  • Proven experience in communicating complex technical concepts and creating accessible content for a broad nontechnical audience.
  • Strong copyediting or proofreading experience, with close attention to detail.
  • Strong commitment to producing readable, high quality written content for public audiences and the accessible presentation of statistics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels and develop relationships, including with senior academics and key stakeholders, both orally and in writing.
