Our client is a successful mid-sized specialist accountancy practice, based in Cornwall.

They now have an opportunity to appoint a Trainee Accountantto support the work of the accountancy team for accounts and tax return preparation for sole traderand limited company clients.



About the role
This role would suit an enthusiastic and ambitious individual, looking for the next step in their career.

Reporting to the senior colleagues, the Trainee Accountant will receive training on systems to allow them to support with day-to-day bookkeeping servicesand tax returns, as well as wider administrative tasks.


Key aspects of the role include:

  • Processing of timely bookkeeping for clients;
  • Preparing sole trade/partnership/limited company accounts from computerised records through to completion;
  • Preparing corporate and personal tax returns through to completion, including dealing with senior review points, within agreed budgeted timeframe;
  • Preparing monthly/quarterly management accounts;
  • Timely requesting of client records and delivery of information;
  • Liaising with clients for queries and providing ad hoc support when necessary;
  • An expectation of continual learning and personal development outside of structured courses.
The ideal person

The person will be confidently working within the team and independently. They will be organised and methodical, able to multitask across different client work. They will also have good communication skills for liaising with clients and be keen to learnand progress.
