Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Director or Senior Associate to establish, lead and develop our Active Travel team nationally.

This is a key strategic role within our Infrastructure business as we seek a seasoned Transport or Engineering Professional capable of growing our Active Travel business.

The role can be based out of any of our UK offices, but ideally based in England.


You will lead and develop Stantec's Active Travel planning and design capability in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, working closely with equivalent colleagues in leadership positions in Scotland.


Your task will be to grow active travel consultancy and design services across the full lifecycle of projects from funding, planning, through concept design, stakeholder engagement to detailed design and implementation.

You will work with a team of transport planners, design engineers and multi-disciplinary teams to develop a coordinated team approach.


You will play a key role in terms of Business Development and maintaining key client relationships with a view to increasing the number of framework appointments and direct awards related to active travel.

A key focus will be to grow our public sector portfolio as well as operating in the private sector.

You will provide strong leadership for a team of active travel focused consultants based across England and will work collaboratively with our Leadership group to develop both the team and workload in line with the Stantec's ambitions for growth.

ABOUT YOU
Ideally you will be a Chartered Civil Engineer or Transport Planning Professional or equivalent and Degree qualified. You will have demonstrable experience in work winning from strategic Frameworks and developing and securing new business opportunities.


You will have experience in leading a successful team in public sector focused transport planning and have demonstrable knowledge and experience of active travel consultancy from a planning and/or design perspective.


You will have strong client facing ethos, can-do attitude, and the ability to present complex projects and concepts to fellow professionals and stakeholders.


Most importantly, you will have the ambition and passion to grow our Active Travel team, deliver and build upon our existing portfolio, and identify new opportunities in the market.
