Physical Security Department

The Security Department for Vantage Data Centers is very hands on. In most cases, we specify, purchase, configure and maintain all physical security networking, software, and server hardware.

We also work closely with partner VARs to learn about the latest technology changes so that we can make informed purchase decisions.

Vantage Global Physical & Informational Security Department also participates in designing each of our new data center building's security infrastructure.

Position Overview

The physical Security team is looking for a forward-thinking, results-oriented, innovative physical security supervisor who can oversee, execute and develop security operations at CWL-11.

The Supervisor, Physical Security, EMEA will lead and manage a team of Security Officers with direction from the Manager, Physical Security, EMEA.

The role is responsible for managing all day-to-day aspects of the security function including daily workflow, schedules, and implement security protocols for the site.

The role is also responsible for managing the on-site 3rd party Security vendors in the deliverance of Security activities.

Essential Job Functions

Daily management and administration of the Security function at the facility
Manage all security incidents in accordance with Vantage policy
Line manager for the propriety security team and external 3rd party security vendors
Ensure all personnel on site adhere to and comply with Vantage Security and access control policies and procedures
Work under limited supervision, both independently and collectively within a team environment
Respond to safety and emergency situations and maintain a safe and secure work environment
Frequent contact with client personnel, external 3rd party contractors and vendors

Duties

Manage the site security operations and give clear direction to the Security Team
Manage, report, and investigate all security related incidents in accordance with security policy
Complete all incident reports and followup action in accordance with compliance policy
Manage the daytoday operation, servicing, and repair of all security system infrastructure
Manage all the security teams HR matters (Absence, training, staffing levels, shift rota, overtime) in a timely manner
Ensure all personnel on site comply with Vantage Site Operating Procedures (SOP's)
Ensure the team has all valid security licenses as directed by Vantage and local legislation
Manage all individual and collective training as directed in Vantage training policy
Facilitate site tours for internal and external customers/visitors as required
Encourage and foster a teamorientated environment through positive feedback
Train, mentor and advise the Security staff on new processes and procedures
Ensure that all Security Shift documentation is completed, legible and accurate
Respond to safety and emergency situations and maintain a safe and secure work environment
Deal with customer questions in a prompt, courteous and professional manner
Escalate any major issues to the Director, Physical Security in line with policies and procedures
Act as the Chief Fire Marshal taking ownership and managing the situation when there is a fire evacuation

Job Requirements

5 years experience of working in a physical security related role, 2 years as a supervisor, preferably in a Data Center or Critical Infrastructure environment
Extensive knowledge of security protocols and procedures in a critical environment
Potential employees must complete a background check successfully and possess or be able to obtain SC Clearance
Must possess or be able to obtain SIA certification
Confident, calm decision maker when under pressure, even with incomplete or limited information
Able to plan, organize and prioritize workload to meet short deadlines
Able to work independently, with minimum guidance
Experience in dealing with customer issues and problem solving
May be required to complete formal training in an area of
