Description
My client is a PVC Extrusion Manufacturing Company. We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to work within our Fabrication department.


Job Description & Specific actions/responsibilities:

  • Manage Fabrication function in line with operations strategy
  • Involvement in recruitment & interview process for new employees
  • Develop people through training, coaching, and mentoring
  • Conduct personal development reviews and performance meetings with team members
  • Conduct investigations in disciplinary and grievance cases
  • Conduct informal meetings to address minor issues relating to conduct or performance
  • Liaise with external and internal customers and suppliers to meet order commitments
  • Plan department production schedules to meet order demand within agreed lead times
  • Allocate work to department
  • Manage day to day transactions with contractors and material buffer suppliers
  • Ensure adequate provision of supplies & equipment
  • Management of raw material stock levels using Kanban system or similar
  • Produce weekly / monthly reports and create insights & actions through analysis of data & analytics for Quality, Cost and Delivery
  • Assist in the development and maintain department Process Control Plans, Standard Operating Procedures, Standard Forms in line with policies and procedures
  • Assist in operational tasks when required
  • Fabricate aluminium and PVC stair nosing's and manufacture product to approved instruction and standards
  • Safely use relevant machines, equipment and tools in appropriate manner and maintain housekeeping standards
  • Pick and allocate correct raw materials and packaging
  • Inspect and check products to agree quality and specification
  • Move and manage finished goods
The Fabrication department operates on a shift system between 8am and 10pm Monday to Friday.

Working hours will be on a bi-weekly rotation of 8.00am to 4.00pm in week 1, and 2.00pm to 10.00pm in week 2.

Some flexibility is required, and the pattern may changeduring periods of absence cover or production demand. Occasional weekend work may be required. Salary for the role is £28,000 rising to £28,800 on successful completion of a 13 week probationary period
