Payroll Co-ordinator


The payroll function is processed by a third-party payroll provider who process payroll on behalf of the Bryson Charitable group, the job holder will be required to manage the outsourced contract of 1000+ weekly and monthly staff.

The job holder will be required to have up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and to be able to assist the wider finance team on all payroll related matters.


What you need to know:

  • Location: Belfast city centre
  • Contracted hours: 25hrs per week with extra hours could be discussed
  • Salary: £27k £30k pro rata. (25 hours equates to £19,285 £21,424)

What the role entails:

  • To be a key point of contact for liaising with the outsourced payroll provider, and internal management.
  • To drive improvement in payroll processing and reporting.
  • To manage payroll related services internally, ensuring effective payroll controls, policies and procedures are in place and the implementation of them where required.
  • To be responsible for timely and accurate payment processing and review of discrepancies.
  • To be responsible for timely payroll postings to Sage 200.
  • To be responsible for all aspects of payroll financial control including month end reconciliation of RTI submission, payroll control accounts, deductions and subsequent reporting.
  • To undertake adhoc payroll reporting and payroll related projects.
  • To understand employer pension obligations and responsible for ensuring compliance.
  • To manage all payroll related enquiries.
  • To liaise with outside agencies.

What We Need from You:

  • 5 GSCE's grade C or above (or equivalent) including Mathematics and English
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in a large payroll function
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel
  • Working knowledge of UK PAYE legislation and obligations
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

£19,285.00-£21,424.00 per year
