Your role at Orbit.
Orbit are looking to recruit an experienced Second Line Team Lead into our busy IT department.

You will be required to lead a team of technical support analysts, delivering second line and remote desktop support to the business.


Your key duties and responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage, support, mentor and develop 2nd line staff
  • Provide excellent technical support to our Executive Leadership Team
  • Lead and deliver internal technical projects
  • Delegate for the IT Service Manager in their absence
  • Ensure all incidents, service requests and other tasks are resolved or fulfilled in line with SLA's and standard processes
  • Work with the IT Service Manager to continuously develop and improve working practices, processes and standards
  • Coordinate and manage processes relating to the procurement, configuration and deployment of user IT equipment
  • Responsible for the administration and accurate documenting of IT assets
  • Manage the operations of the 2nd line workload
  • Provide 2nd line technical support to customers
  • Develop, implement and deliver an effective triage process
  • Work closely with 1st line team leader and third line support managers
  • Research and develop technical solutions as required for customer queries and requests
  • Proactively identify risks
  • Analyse incident records to identify root causes

To be successful in this role of Second Line Team Lead you will need to ideally have previous experience of working at a similar level and have previous people management experience.


It is essential that you also have:

  • ITIL Service Management Foundation v3 Certificate or equivalent
  • Microsoft certification or significant work related experience
  • Experience of diagnosis and rectification or faults
  • Able to demonstrate additional levels of stakeholder management, interacting and delivering additional service to our Executive Leadership Team.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with hardware, software and mobile technologies
  • Experience with a range of technologies including Active Directory, GPO, Citrix, Windows Desktop, SCCM, Apple mobile devices, VOIP telephone systems, Networking, M365 etc
