The TV News Editor builds and shapes Iran International's news bulletins and outputs our coverage from the gallery.

You will be responsible for delivering creative and innovative news coverage to our audiences and ensure it complies with the highest editorial standards.

You will liaise closely with the Senior News Editor, Sub-Editors and Producers to maximise the impact of our original journalism and play a key role in delivering the channel's creative and editorial ambition.

Responsibilities:

Take charge of preparing the channel's London based news bulletins, build running orders and output live in the gallery.
Ensure the highest standards of journalism are maintained during our live news output in accordance with Iran International's Editorial guidelines.
Be able to prepare and deliver rolling news coverage of breaking stories and live events.
Liaise closely with the Senior News Editor, and Sub-Editors to deliver live content generating maximum impact on all platforms and channels.
Be a significant voice in the newsroom offering creative story ideas and innovative treatments for broadcast on the day.
Linemanage and mentor newsroom producers delivering regular feedback.
Build strong relationships with the operations team and foster a cooperative and collaborative approach in the gallery.

Requirements:

Proven capacity to create and output bulletins, in line with the Senior News Editor's vision, and meet deadlines.
Substantial experience of live TV News output and special coverage production.
Excellent organisational abilities and communication skills, particularly in the gallery.
Capacity to collaborate and work effectively within and across teams.
Understanding of modern TV news production techniques.
A good knowledge of news and digital trends as well as audience tendencies including the industry directions.
A commitment to developing our news output to the highest standards.
A track record of creativity when producing content and story ideas.
A passion for passing on your knowledge and skills to the next generation of producers.
Team management skills.
A wide and uptodate knowledge of Iranian and International affairs.
An indepth understanding of Iran's history, politics social issues and culture.
Farsi as your first (or equivalent) language, fluency in English, and the ability to write, translate and adapt material accurately and to tight deadlines.
Full awareness of Iran International's Editorial Guidelines, and commitment to the editorial aims of the channel.
