We'll give you support, opportunity and exposure to a lot of different areas of the audit process and key business areas.
You will build relationships within the Audit and Investigation team, Council departments and will work closely with Schools across the two boroughs.
It's an amazing opportunity to learn not just about internal audit, but system and what other parts of the Council do.
You will work as part of a growing team that is responsible for delivering internal audit services to LB Ealing and LB Hounslow.
You will be inquisitive and work well under pressure and be strong at communicating with people from a variety of backgrounds.
- Ability to take direction and be successfully trained to quickly ensure that targets and objectives are met with agreed timescales.
- A good understanding of the purpose of internal audit as an aid to management through its role as an independent appraisal function.
- A knowledge of the issues, challenges and risks facing local government including schools.
- An understanding of the public sector internal audit standards.
- An ability to interview staff alone (initially supervised) during the normal course of an Audit in order to obtain relevant information required for the audit process.
- The ability to understand key financial and operational weaknesses and formulate solutions. This knowledge should include the ability to analyse a system to ensure the key risks in meeting the systems objectives are identified and mitigated.
- The ability to prepare clear, concise audit reports to convey the findings and recommendations to mitigate risks.
- A working knowledge of effective use of MS Office (word, excel, power point and outlook) including the ability to create spreadsheets and presentations.
- Ability to travel in both Ealing and Hounslow Boroughs to work at remote locations when required.
Qualifications:
- 3 A levels at grades A* C or equivalent
- New GCSE 94 or old GCSE A
- C in Maths and English Language or equivalent
Or
- A minimum of a 2:2 degree in any discipline.
