Process Safety Engineer - Germany, United Kingdom - Piper Maddox
Description
A client in the Battery Manufacturing space is looking for a Process Safety Engineer at material level to join their site in Leipzig.
They are already successfully delivering products to leading customers and have an ambitious technology road-map for youto get involved in.
What you'll do:
- Responsible for process safety risks and hazards associated with the processes, equipment and day to day operations, including both pilot plant sites and scaleup sites
- Technical support to help drive site improvements, including review of key safety systems and preventive actions
- Conduct of formal risk assessments and process hazard analyses to identify the risk associated with the operation of the facilities
- Implementation of process safety reviews and support the development of related control measures for projects
- Adviser for recommendations on the applicability and interpretation of both internal and external safety guidelines and standards
- Preparation of Risk Management Plans and provide technical support to safety and regulatory audits
- Responsible for permits, licenses from authorities and making sure that all processes and procedures adhere to the regulatory guidelines and rules
- Prepare and support in providing documentation for acquiring permit to construct industrial chemical plant
- Provide safety trainings and onboarding when needed
Requirements:
To succeed in this position, you'll need:
- University Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- At least 35 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: Safety, Operations and / or Engineering Design
- Working experience with hazard identification, risk analyses and assessment methodologies (e.g. Hazard Identification (HAZID), HAZOP studies, Inherent SHE Review, PHAs) desirable
- Working knowledge of industry codes, standards and practices relevant to process design and safety
- Proven track record in design of operational safety concepts, improvement of existing processes and implementation of process safety equipment
- Working experience in the following areas will be an added advantage:
- Synthesis or processing of silanes or halosilanes handling and processing of toxic gases
- Dust explosion risk management and protection
- Fluent German language skills
