Connect2People are looking to connect with Children Residential Support Workers to work on a full time basis with clients in the Swansea area.
Key Responsibilites of the role:
- To be responsible for the direct daytoday care of the children.
- To provide support, praise and encouragement to the children and to complete supportive tasks and duties.
- To work a shift pattern which will include weekends, evenings, nights and bank holidays.
- To be able to write detailed daily records to a high standard.
- To undertake instructions given by the senior management team.
The young people in your care will require you to.
- Keep them safe at all times
- Contribute to providing a stable and happy home
- Listen to, talk and engage with them at all times
- Be sensitive to the needs of each individual child taking into account race, culture, language and religion.
- Provide the children and young people with high quality physical support such as feeding and personal care.
- Provide appropriate boundaries.
- Provide support and comfort when the children are distressed.
- To be a success in this role compassion, empathy and understanding is crucial as you will be working with vulnerable young people each day. The role can be challenging but often rewarding._
QCF Level 3 Children and Young People would be of advantage but is not required as you will be anticipated to enrol on this qualification during the early stages of your employment. Social Care Wales registration with Children and Young People is essential within the first 6 months of employent if not already registered.
Full UK driving Licence is required due to transporting young people.
