About the role

A vacancy has arisen for a senior member of the Group Treasury team at DS Smith Plc.

The team is primarily based in the new Head Office building in Paddington, where the focus is principally on advising operating companies on risk management and working capital, recommending and executing the Group's funding strategy, and managing relationships with banks and the debt capital markets.

Day-to-day cash, risk management and accounting operations managed from a Shared Service Centre located in Wales.

The Treasury team work closely with the group's tax, financial reporting and FP&A functions on activities typical for a multi-national corporate of this size and scale.

Main Tasks

This role will involve supporting the Head of Treasury in delivering the Treasury objectives which cover a wide range of treasury activity including

  • Group funding strategy and execution, including public bond and bank financing
- management of factoring and supply chain finance programmes
- interest rate and FX risk management strategy
- management of rating agency relationships
- liquidity management and intercompany funding
- treasury support for Group capex initiatives

There will be opportunities to lead specific projects, and work with banks and senior management across the business.

The role will be varied, including some structured elements and many other project based and ad hoc activities covering a wide range of treasury activities.

Recent Treasury projects have included
- design and implementation of the Group's Green Finance framework
- issuance of public bonds under Group's EMTN programme
- integration of two major acquisitions
- design and implementation of group wide cash management structures
- significant improvement to the Treasury Management System, including SWIFT integration
- updating the Group's 1.4bn RCF to reflect IBOR transition

Qualifications and Experience

  • AMCT qualified, preferably with accounting qualification
  • Several years of corporate treasury experience, preferably with a large multinational
  • Experience of implementing treasury projects (wide disciplines)
  • Bank and debt capital market funding experience an advantage
  • Hands on treasury management system experience
