Research:

The University of Birmingham would like to support research by offering two protected research PAs to recently appointed (within 18 months) consultants.

Sessions will be prioritised for those with a commitment to research and an interest in an area of research that maps to University of Birmingham strengths.

These include people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, disabled people, LGBTQI+ people, and women. A bespoke mentoring/training programme along with a £5k training/consumables budget will be provided. Assuming good progress is made the Research PAs will be for 3 years.

In keeping with our track-record of supporting the development of colleagues, we anticipate that the appointees will be able to raise research funding to support their research time beyond the 3-year period.
