Seeking an experience Finance Manager for an established charity organisation in Redruth.

This role is being offered on a fixed term contract of 6 months with potential to extend up to 12 dependent on current postholder.


  • Lead the finance team ensuring the whole team provide a high quality, efficient and effective support service to the organisation (Finance Officer & Finance Assistant)
  • Provide accurate and timely financial information to all relevant stakeholders to meet their needs
  • Be an active and supportive member of the Management Team

Main duties and responsibilities:


  • Be responsible for delivery of accurate and timely normal accounting functions including monthly accounts; sales and purchase ledgers; bank reconciliations; payroll; cashflow and all relevant journals
  • Liaise with operational managers to ensure they are provided with understandable and relevant financial information to support their leadership of their areas and formally meet with them monthly
  • Engage with managers and others to provide any necessary financial support in the regular review of projects and evaluation of potential new projects especially when they are reporting to funders or commissioners
  • Support managers as required in their consideration of tenders and potential contracts ensuring appropriate financial robustness in any submissions
  • Within the direction of the external Finance Director and CEO prepare the annual budget
  • Work in close liaison with the Finance Director in preparing the monthly management information
  • Prepare adhoc income and expenditure reports
  • Provide monthend support to the Finance Director as required
  • With the CEO and Finance Director constantly review efficiencies throughout the business to ensure that maximum funding is being applied to support beneficiaries

Essentials skills, qualifications and experience:


  • AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting Level
  • GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C or above
  • Basic accounts preparation, purchase ledger, journal posting.
  • Budgeting
  • Dealing with external stakeholders such as auditors
  • Some supervision of other team members
  • Familiarity with common accounting standards
  • Analytical reviews and cash flow
  • Basic risk management reviews
  • Ability to explain financial information to nonfinancial individuals.
