Role:
Test Lead


Job Purpose
To provide test management (in all matters relating to testing quality assurance) for a project.

Provide a robust testing function that will support RM to the extent necessary in making any decisions whether to sign off solutions or not as requested by either program or portfolio test manager.


Key Accountabilities

  • Define and facilitate formal signoff processes for projects of £1m £3M.
  • Manage the execution of the testing including; Unit, System Integration, User Acceptance, Pre-Production, Regression, and Operational and Functional Acceptance test.
  • Liaise with technical architects and technical leads for required planning, execution and evaluation of the testing.
  • Understand the high level E2E business and technical requirements and intended implementation.
  • Work with different internal technical groups and vendors to ensure sufficient test coverage and quality.
  • Act as single point of contact for the quality of the project at any given stage.
  • Coordinate and arrange necessary test resources and infrastructure for testing where applicable.
  • Ensure projects testing is conducted in line with the inhouse methodology.
  • Supports scoping and estimation of effort for each user story added to the Product backlog.
  • Identify new opportunities for test automation. Design and create automated test scripts wherever possible

Key Skills and Experience
Key Skills

  • A strong knowledge of testing methodologies, industry standards, and tools.

Core Agile and waterfall project management skills:
planning, estimating, issue & risk management, reporting, co-ordination of resources, and financial management

  • Exposure to commercial awareness
  • Ability to mentor and support less experienced test resources.
  • Experience of working with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Agile training/qualifications or experience incl. Scrum, Kanban and Test-Driven Development
  • Experience of going through the transformation from Waterfall to Agile delivery methodologies
Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years test management on large integration projects, with a minimum of 7 years overall testing experience

Qualifications:


  • Technology based higher education or above
  • Formal certification (e.g. ISEB) would be advantageous
  • Certified Agile Tester (e.g. CAT) would be advantageous
