A leading building consultancy is seeking a highly driven and experienced Surveyor to join their London office, working on projects in Greater London and the Southeast regions.
Their sectors of operation include residential, commercial, arts and leisure, education and healthcare - with residential developments being our primary area of operation.
You will be joining a company led at the very top level by Chartered Surveyors, meaning professional development, knowledge sharing and best practice are at the very core of how they deliver their services.
We are looking for an individual who has the initiative to hit the ground running.
The work pace is fast and understanding the objective to be 'the consultant of choice' is key to how they deliver an exceptional service.
REQUIREMENTS:
The right individual will have:
- 25 years' experience in delivering the Employer's Agent role (Desirable)
- A quantity surveying, building surveying or project management background
- Confidence at client meetings
- Strong ambitions to develop their technical skills
- A team player approach and ability to work closely with clients and colleagues
- Commitment to the RICS and completing the APC, if not already achieved
- Good communication and workload management skills
- Excellent problemsolving abilities
- A methodical approach to tasks
- Experience in JCT contracts and Development Agreements (Desirable)
- Strong technical knowledge of construction
- A cost estimating background (Desirable)
- A full, clean driving licence (Desirable)
JOB SUMMARY
No two days will be the same for their Surveyors, but your general responsibilities will include:
- Providing Employer's Agent and Contract Administration services across a variety of projects from inception to completion
- Providing precontract services, including chairing design team meetings and managing the preconstruction phase
- Preparing, regulating, and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
- Experience in various forms of procurement and contracts to be able to advise clients
- Undertaking risk assessments
- Assessing value for money
- Administering JCT construction contracts and development agreements, including chairing meetings
- Valuing work completed onsite and certifying payments
- Assessing cost variations
- Preparing cost reports and cash flows
- Preparing and agreeing final accounts
- Assessing and agreeing extension of time and loss and expense claims
You will be joining an established and friendly team based out of their central London office, with surveying experience ranging from Director to junior level.

£40,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
