  • We are looking for a Buyer to join our Purchasing team. Our friendly and supportive team look after consumer electronics in the technology reseller and distribution market. This is an exciting opportunity to work with some of the biggest brands in the tech industry in a role that offers vendor and stock ownership, development, and career progression.
    Your Day-to-Day as a Buyer
  • Maintain the correct inventory levels to satisfy customer demand, whilst maintaining the correct inventory levels, balancing cash flow, stock turns, and warehousing space.
  • Monitor order confirmation to ensure a high level of supplier response and uptodate delivery dates.
  • Oversee the inbound movement of goods from suppliers and manage courier portfolio delivering the right results.
  • Aged stock management / Weekly aged meetings with Commercial on 180/360+.
  • EOM / EOQ forecasting for stock and aged stock.
  • Conduct negotiations with suppliers.
  • Attend supplier QBRs/product launches/channel events.
  • Develop robust improvement plans with suppliers to improve the flow of product supply, the accuracy of lead time, and order confirmation & status update data exchange.
  • Support the personnel requirements of the Assistant Buyer ensuring requirements with individual welfare, training needs, and job performance are met.
  • Demonstrate a strong awareness of and commitment to Ethics and Compliance and the DCC Group Code of Conduct.

Role Requirements

  • Experience of working in a busy purchasing department.
  • Excellent negotiating and networking skills to deliver the best results for the business.
  • Ability to multitask and be flexible to address immediate priorities and still manage deadlines with longerterm projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to resolve issues, prioritise and manage own workload responsibly as well as that of Assistant Buyers (if applicable) via effective delegation.
  • Highly numerate/literate
  • IT skills consisting of Microsoft Word and Excel
