Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist with the delivery of a construction related compliance service for tenants and residents of properties owned or managed by the association.
  • Have an awareness of fire safety, asbestos, gas regulation and safeguarding.
  • In conjunction with the Compliance Manager to place repairs orders for construction related compliance services, repairs and planned and capital works as appropriate using the ordering system and monitoring the performance of our partnering contractor and subcontractors as required.
  • Working in conjunction with IT consultants and Keystone and /or other management systems to develop performance management reports to meet the requirements of Property Services and related services.
  • Monitoring, progress chasing completions and satisfaction levels resulting from compliance and planned, and capital related works being completed within our housing stock.
  • Maintaining appropriate and accurate records within our repairs and compliance related system/Keystone/shared drive facilities and interrogating and extracting information from third party webbased systems as appropriate.
  • Adherence to statutory, regulatory requirements and best practice. Incorporating appropriate construction related Health & Safety requirements.
  • To assist with the ongoing performance monitoring of consultants, contractors, and their agents by production of information and attendance at meetings as directed by the Compliance Manager.
  • To assist in the preparation (and if required presentation) of progress and performance reports for the Compliance Manager, Property Services Manager, Head of Operations, Director of Operations or EMT as directed.
  • To liaise with Council Officers, Housing Association staff, Government Departments, Regulator for Social Housing and the Health and Safety Executive, and other housing and property agencies as appropriate.
  • To represent the Company and establish good working relationships with client local authorities, other local authorities and RSLs, the Regulator for Social Housing and other appropriate organisations.

  • To demonstrate commitment to improving the opportunities for people living in Newham and other local authorities and the surrounding areas and the drive to positively promote these diverse and challenging areas
  • To carry out any appropriate duties as directed by the Senior Compliance Officer, Property Services Manager of Head of Operations and/or Director of Operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Two years' experience of working in a property management organisation
  • Educated to either NVQ 3/ HNC level
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Services for delivery of and/or management of assets.
  • Demonstrable experience of maintaining records systems and property information systems.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of the likely issues that could impinge upon the viability of a property, or the health & Safety, or peaceful enjoyment of a property by an occupant.
  • Ability to analyse and understand data and information quickly
  • Demonstrates high level of personal integrity, confidentiality, trust, and sensitivity.
  • Excellent written and spoken communications skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and flexibly
