The project at Southampton is a collaboration between Prof Hywel Morgan in School of Electronics and Computer Science and Dr Nic Bury in the School of Ocean and Earth Science.

There are two Research Fellows associated with the project, one with Prof Hywel focusing on the engineering aspect of developing a microphysiological platform and the other with Dr Bury focusing on the biological aspect of the project, and you will work closely with the other fellow to develop the "Organ on Chip" platform.

The biological Research Fellow will develop a marine fish gill cell culture system to detect pollutant in the marine environment using fluorophores and gene expression and will involve both lab-based cell culture work as well as environmental field monitoring.
