We are looking for keen enthusiastic Health Care Assistants to join our dynamic caring team delivering high quality specialist care in Gastroenterology.

This is a rewarding and fast paced area.

Edith Cavell ward is 28 beds Medicine Ward dedicated to the treatment of Gastroenterological related illnesses.

Our ward is a great place to gain or expand your knowledge, skills and experience of nursing acutely unwell patients within a supportive team environment.


As our Health care Assistant (HCA) you will work under supervision as a member of a multidisciplinary team, be expected to perform a wide range of duties to deliver best possible care for patients admitted and support and offer suggestions on improving the delivery of care to patients and service users.


You must possess excellent communication skills, ensuring, monitoring and maintaining health and safety in the workplace as described in duties and responsibilities and ensure that admission and assessment documentation is completed for all in patients, and assist in training and development of other members of the MDT.


You should be able to teach, train and develop new and existing staff members on all aspects of documentation used in the clinical environment, and participate in auditing of assessments carried out.


You should be able to inform and empower patients to maintain skin care regimes and must have a good understanding and be able to demonstrate to other members of nursing staff aspects infection control.
