**Senior Automation Tester | Hybrid Working with Glasgow or Dundee Base Location | £ £ £5,000 DDaT Pay Supplement after 3 month qualifying period | Full or Part Time Hours | Flexi
- time | 25 Days annual leave (increasing to 30 after 4 years' service) plus 11.5 Public and Privilege| Contributory Pension Scheme (employee contributions 5.45% employer contributions %)|**The Testing Team is part of the Technologies and Platforms branch and handles all testing services for the programme and live operations. The team consistently delivers a quality service and our QAT practice helps us maintain and improve the services needed for delivery. We're a small, diverse team with plans for future growth and we're excited to welcome new members who can help shape and develop our practice and ways of working.

  • Salary between £ £49860 plus a £5000 annual Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) pay supplement after a 3 month qualifying period. This supplement is backdated and paid with your monthly salary.
  • Flexible working arrangements with potential of up to 4 days off per month.

Responsibilities:


As a Senior Automation Tester, you will:

  • Ensure quality and minimise risk of technology products.
  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to create and improve test plans and cases.
  • Estimate, prioritise, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
  • Design, develop, and execute automation scripts.
  • Identify, record, document, and track bugs during the software development lifecycle.
  • Provide thorough regression testing when resolved.
  • Lead and support junior staff on projects.
  • Present project output to senior stakeholders.
  • Implement test frameworks and mentor team members in testing.
  • Have strong experience in industry standard techniques and understand Test Heuristics.
  • Experience using deployment tools such as Jenkins and ADO to trigger automated test execution.
  • Experience Working with Selenium and Cucumber
  • Identify automation opportunities and understand Agile, DevOps, and continuous testing approaches, as well as onpremise and cloud architectures.

As a Senior Automation Tester, you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications or experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in software testing, with significant experience as an Automation Tester.
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability and previous experience mentoring and coaching team members.
  • Proficiency in collaborative development tools such as Github, Confluence, and JIRA.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
