Position:
Painter and Decorator - Social Housing Repairs Contract
Responsibilities:
- Carry out painting and decorating tasks in residential properties, both internal and external, following project specifications and health and safety regulations.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling cracks or holes to ensure a smooth and even finish.
- Repair and replace damaged areas, including plaster, woodwork, or wallpaper, as required.
- Ensure efficient use of materials and resources to minimise waste and maintain costeffectiveness.
- Collaborate with the project team, including supervisors and other trades, to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Communicate and coordinate with residents, addressing any concerns or questions in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a painter and decorator, preferably in social housing or residential maintenance projects.
- Solid knowledge of painting and decorating techniques, materials, and tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to achieve highquality finishes.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with residents and team members.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and practices related to construction and maintenance work.
- Basic knowledge of repairs and maintenance in other trades, such as carpentry or plastering, is a plus.
- Full UK Driving Licence
Monday to Friday
40 hours PAID per week
1 hour UNPAID lunch break per day
13 weeks Temporary to Permanent
