Must Drive due to nature of the role

This is a new and exciting opportunity for an Estimating Surveyor to join our client in York.

They offer a true design and build process to their clients working with those directly involved in the business success at the early stages to understand the requirements of their business to deliver a workspace for them to thrive in.

Development in the marketplace and number of projects completed continuing to increase, so does the size of the team which is a testament to the quality of product and service that they offer to their clients as the business continues to grow.

This has also meant that they need to expand the depth of the Therefore we are looking for an Estimating Surveyor on a permanent basis to join our clients creative, vibrant team at the head office in York


The Role;

What are we looking for?

  • Prepare cost proposals for wide range of clients, dealing with both concept and technical drawings, bills of quantities, plans, site surveys, subcontractor enquiry packages, final cost
  • Provide accurate cost advice and undertake conceptual budgeting when required developing schemes from concept to delivery through our Design and Build route to market ensuring all elements are represented and captured with cost proposals
  • Carefully inspect enquiry documents and analyse to ascertain key requirements, identifying areas that will have implications to the business
  • Analyse cost proposal submissions to ensure completeness/compliance and issue any necessary queries regarding scope and technical requirements. Making clear statements of inclusions/exclusions
  • Visit and assess site requirements where required attending with our partnered supply chain validation
  • Make all clarifications and qualifications to accompany enquiries or seek clarification for the design/client team and advise on preferred solutions balancing cost/quality/performance
  • Carry out value engineering to reduce the costs of the enquiries where applicable
  • Organise and chair handover meetings with the project delivery team, including issue of all delivery information and build ups, ensuring a full handover of all relevant items ensuring all previous decisions and requests have been captured for implementation
  • Assist the client in ensuring any documentation such as services drawings, validation reports etc are issued prior to the contract handover to the delivery team.
  • Demonstrative experience in commercial projects or similar
  • Knowledge of building, material components, building regulations, estimating (including take off) and Health and Safety
