Responsible to:
Headteacher
Main purpose of the job:
To be responsible to the Headteacher or Midday Supervisor for the supervision of pupils during the lunch break.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
KEY AREAS
- Supervision of children during the school lunch break
- Ensuring that hygiene standards are maintained
- Ensuring that safety standards are maintained
- Safeguarding our children
Resources:
None
Job Activities:
Supervision of Children
Supervision of children waiting for " first" or "second sitting".
Escorting children to the dining room.
Encouragement of the very young children to consume their food.
To assist in the development of good table manners.
Supervision of children in playground, cloakroom, toilets etc.
To manage the behaviour of children within the school's ethos.
To engage with the children by playing games, encouraging cooperation and participation.
Hygiene Standards
Supervise hand washing
Cleaning up spillages
Ensuring tables are clean
Safety Standards
Ensure that the flow of children in the immediate vicinity of the dining area is made in an orderly fashion.
Safeguarding
To be vigilant in all aspects of safeguarding, to ensure that our children are kept safe.
