Fixed Asset Accountant

Duration:9 months initially


The role:


As part of this role the Assistant Fixed Asset Accountant will manage and maintain the Fixed Asset Register in line with the accounting policies and control framework.

The primary objective of the role will be processing of asset transactions specific tobusiness units across the business. In addition to this, the role will support month end close activities and asset reconciliations where required.


Responsibilities:


  • Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register to ensure information recorded and reported is timely, accurate and in line with National Grid accounting policies
  • Ensuring that Fixed Asset transactions are completed on a timely and accurate basis
  • Supporting the management of the Fixed Asset close cycle related to the fixed asset register at month and year end. This will include some journal processing and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Reporting requirements including, but not limited to, depreciation simulations and acquisition / disposal reviews
  • Any other reasonable request made by management

Requirements:


  • Fixed Assets reporting
  • Understanding of Balance Sheet reconciliation
  • SAP understanding
