Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced Data Protection Lead to join TikTok's Office of the Data Protection Officer ("ODPO") based in Dublin and London.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior privacy professional to further develop their career in a company that is enjoying hyper growth on a truly global scale and advise on cutting edge products and features.


Job Description:

Core Responsibilities

  • The overarching role is to support the execution of the tasks of a Data Protection Officer as mandated by the GDPR.
  • Support TikTok's privacy compliance programme including the continuing evolution of a privacy governance strategy and accountability framework as well as policies and procedures for TikTok in Europe.
  • Ability to analyse, build and present reports to senior leadership.
  • Advise and support on data protection related regulatory engagements and investigations.
  • Provide strategic advice to the business on data protection considerations and riskmitigations in the context of new TikTok products, features and policies.
  • Conduct and advise on a range of privacy compliance obligations including data protection impact assessments, legitimate interest assessments, records of processing activities and other legal risk assessments relating to data protection matters.
  • Support the evaluation of, and response to, potential data breaches including any arising reporting obligations to relevant regulators.
  • Help promote a robust internal data protection culture by contributing to ongoing efforts in designing. implementing and presenting a wide range of privacy and data protection training and awareness initiatives.
  • Proactively collaborate with legal and business teams spread across time zones in multiple locations.
  • Drive and coordinate large crossfunctional projects relating to privacy matters balancing priorities and needs of multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Essential

  • 10+ years of privacy and/ or compliance experience, i.e. experience in a legal, audit, consulting or risk management role.
  • Indepth knowledge of privacy and data protection issues with respect to digital platforms including an excellent understanding of data protection law.
  • Experience advising on privacy risk assessments and mitigations across digital products and new technologies.
  • Ability to assess legal, practical and business risks in a fastpaced environment and provide sound and practical advice under tight deadlines.
  • Highly organised, self motivated person with excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively and credibly.
  • Operates with a high degree of integrity.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills including the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team and the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organisation.
Preferred

  • Experience of working for or on behalf of a Data Protection Officer.
  • Experience working directly with European Data Protection Authorities.
  • Experience working with, or advising, multinational corporations.
  • Experience conducting gap assessments; leveraging accountability frameworks and recommending privacy related KPI's.
  • Experience building and delivering reports to senior leadership.
  • Experience engaging with crossfunctional business stakeholders to understand business processes, data flows, controls, and business needs.
  • High degree of business acumen.
  • Prior experience managing a team.
  • Relevant data protection qualifications (e.g. CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, CDPO)
  • Project management and consulting skills.
