Role Overview
The Strategy & Advisory team are policy experts who use Ipsos's extensive evidence base and leading research and analysis methods to develop policy options and shape strategies with clients.
What will I be doing?
As a consultant in the Strategy & Advisory team, you will play a key role in delivering strategy and policy projects with leading public sector clients.
You will have the opportunity to work with colleagues with a range of expertise - research, behavioural, data, economics - both in the UK and internationally.
We are looking for people with policy expertise who have worked in or with government, a creative mind, and a collaborative ethos.
Examples of policy domain expertise are health, justice, energy and the environment, science and innovation, technology, and economic policy - but other areas will also be of interest to us.
The main responsibilities of the role are:
- Leading strands of projects, developing strong day-to-day client relationships
- Analysing policy problems, reviewing evidence and developing options
- Helping to develop tools and resources for us to deliver consultancy projects
- Bringing in insights from colleagues from a range of professions. This includes economists, evaluators, behavioural experts and researchers
- Supporting the Directors and Associate Directors in identifying and winning potential opportunities through open tenders and building trusted relationships with clients.
Essential:
- Some experience with the UK government / public policy
- A passion for, and understanding of, the public sector from the development of policies to the delivery of services in different areas of public life
- The aptitude and ability to quickly build relationships, including with senior clients
- Some domain knowledge in one or more areas of policy
- Demonstrated creativity in solving clients' problems in public sector settings
- A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with government clients in a trusted manner
