Trainee Hire Desk Controller

Are you a recent graduate or recently completed an apprenticeship and are looking for an office-based position within construction?
This is a great time to join RM Contractors as we continue to grow in a very competitive industry.

You will train on the job to become a core asset to the plant team and help support the day-to-day maintenance of the hire desk.

The Successful Applicant will

Be a recent graduate or have completed an apprenticeship in a business or construction related qualification.
Have great customer service skills.
Hands on approach.
Be methodical even under pressure

Your main objectives will be too

Gain product knowledge of construction plant and small tools.
Help action the hire and offhire requests from site.
Chase up deliveries and collections to ensure they have been delivered on time.
Log any ad hoc queries such as breakdowns.
Ensure mandatory records are always kept up to date and on file (orders/invoices etc)
Develop skills in effective decision making, problem solving and how to be costeffective.
Learn how to build key relationships with third party suppliers.
