Description

The role is to support the Early Years Practitioners, help prepare children's sleeping areas, to help with the laundry and to serve nutritionally balanced, freshly prepared meals for the children in our care and to be totally responsible for the safe and hygienic management of the nursery environment before, during and after meal times and snack times and support the practitioners within the room with the delivery of the routine and activities planned for the children.

The Nursery Assistant will be required to work 20 hours/week.

Key Responsibilities

  • To prepare the beds for children ensuring there is clean, fresh bedding available
  • To remove and wash all bedding whenever required
  • Reporting equipment, maintenance problems to the Senior in the room
  • To adhere strictly to Food Hygiene Regulations and other safety procedures at all times
  • To adhere strictly to the following safety rules
  • Ensure all food residue is completely removed and all the floors and surfaces are disinfected accordingly
  • Ensure the room is clean at all times
  • Ensure that all shelves are neat and tidy
  • To be responsible for the day to day cleaning of the rooms
Health and Safety

  • Liaise with the room manager to ensure maintaining allergy management systems in line with Company policy and ensuring the relevant colour coded plates, bowls and cups are used to identify children with allergies and dietary requirements
  • Remain aware and observant of all health and safety issues in the nursery and where possible reducing the risk of an accident occurring through preventative actions, report to the senior
  • Ensure the nursery equipment is kept suitably clean at all times in accordance with the company cleaning schedules
  • Ensure the effective and regular removal of waste materials to designated waste store
General

  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the Senior or line management
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
