VolkerRail are looking to recruit a Resource Co-ordinator to join our Major Projects team, working as part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade East Alliance.

The position is based at the project hub at Gascoigne Wood (LS25 6JE).

The mission of the TRU East Alliance is to transform the East of Leeds route allowing people to travel faster, more reliably and in greater comfort between the North's great cities.

Providing passengers with more choice, more seats and better facilities on a safer, cleaner, more environmentally friendly railway.

The TRU East project is broken down into multiple overlapping projects. Project E1 which is currently in build and planned to complete in December 2024. With the remaining projects E2,3,4 and Shipley planned to complete in 2028.

The project works include full new electrification between Leeds and York and include significant and complex renewals works at Neville Hill and Church Fenton.

The works also include a new depot at Shipley, and line speed enhancement and Journey time improvement works along the route between Leeds and York.

Within a demanding multi-disciplinary environment, optimum resource utilisation is key to maintaining business profitability and this role will support the Resource Manager in ensuring that this can be achieved.

Key accountabilities:

The role will include:

Responsible for ensuring the rostering of resource requirements in accordance with terms and conditions of employment, including stipulated timescales to ensure contractual requirements (work programme) are delivered.
Responsible for ensuring that the rosters are developed in accordance with the relevant HSQE policies and procedures are adhered to.
Responsible for managing the allocation of hours and weekend shifts ensuring correct utilisation of available resource.
Responsible for the inputting of all training, annual leave and sickness shifts/hours into the relevant business systems.
Establish and maintain robust communication within the project team and across resource and supply chain coordinators in each business.
Liaise with agency suppliers on a weekly basis to address any shortfalls of resource requirements.
Provide support with data analysis and production of reports associated with the planning and utilisation of staff

Skills & experience:

Be able to demonstrate and provide evidence of experience in a similar role within rail/ construction related industry
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent communication, literacy and interpersonal skills
Experience of producing work for a team of people juggling competing priorities
Flexible, proactive and positive attitude; diplomatic and patient, demonstrating exceptional initiative to coordinate multiple parties and act collaboratively
Be able to maintain good relationships with experienced managers and leaders
