Description

The Breast Surgery Department at St George's Hospital wishes to appoint a Trust Grade doctor to complete and enhance its team of doctors.

This post will give the post-holder the opportunity to gain experience in Breast Surgery and Endocrine Surgery, as well as supporting the General Surgery on-call rota with daytime and night-time on calls.

The post will be for 6 months, with the possibility of a 6 month extension working across all of all three firms.


We are recruiting to this exciting role which will provide you with the opportunity to develop your clinical skills in Breast Surgery and Endocrine Surgery, as well as General Surgery.

This is a fixed term appointment for 6 months with the possibility to extend a further 6 months.


The appointee will have a continuing responsibility for the care of patients under the care of the Breast Surgery and Endocrine Surgery teams, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.

On-call commitments are with the General Surgery team, and daytime commitments are with the Breast and Endocrine Surgery team.

The appointee will be expected to competent at the 'SpR ' level in all aspects of general and emergency surgery.

Main Duties/Key Result Areas:


This is a clinical post where the appointee will join the Breast Surgery and Endocrine Surgery team and remain there for the duration of their contract.

The post would provide an ideal professional development platform from which the appointee may develop a portfolio of experience. The post intended is not part of a training program.
On Call Duties

Day and nights on call are organised into blocks of 4 (Mon-Thurs) and 3 (Fri-Sun) days as part of a compliant rota.

On-call commitments are for the General Surgery Department.
