As a

SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to:

  • Establish positive and secure relationships with students and help develop their trust and belief, promoting their self-esteem
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, physical, and emotional/behavioral/medical needs of the children and respond to them effectively
  • Work closely alongside the teacher to offer classroom support and assist whenever required
  • Encourage all students to learn and motivate them to reach their maximum potential
  • Establish a good working relationship with all children, acting as a role model
  • Challenge and support the progress of all pupils
  • Accompany the students in their spare time or with social activities

Prior experience in aiding children with additional needs in an educational setting is preferred but not essential.
